New
Paltz
This
New York town about 90 miles north of New York City contains
dramatic
quartzite cliffs, beloved by climbers, unique pine forests, open rock slabs
and hidden streams.

Weir Farm National Historic Site
Weir
Farm National Historic Site is the only National Park unit in the nation
devoted to a painter, James Alden Weir.
I
was official Artist-in-Residence during the Fall of 1999. Though a relatively
small piece of land, the site has preserved the beauties
of
Western Connecticut's New England Landscape of ancient oaks, meadows and
stone walls.

This was the fantastic residence I lived in during my time at Weir Farm. The studio is 25 feet by 40 feet. |

The
long nights, generous facilities and immersion in nature encouraged
me
to paint some more experimental works.
