Weir
Farm National Historic Site is the only
National
Park unit in the nation devoted to a painter, James Alden Weir.
I
had the great honor to be selected as their official Artist-in-Residence
during the Fall of 1999.
Though
a relatively small piece of land, the site has preserved the beauties of
Western Connecticut's
New
England Landscape. I was impressed by the ancient oaks, meadows
and stone walls.

This was the fantastic residence I lived in during my time at Weir Farm. The studio is 25 feet by 40 feet. |

The
long nights, generous facilities and immersion in nature encouraged
me
to paint some more experimental works.
