Northeast's Wilderness

The small areas of wild land in New York State and New England are treasured refuges for me.
While not of the scale of Western states, they have unique qualities.

Weir Farm National Historic Site

Weir Farm National Historic Site is the only National Park unit in the nation devoted to a painter, James Alden Weir.
I was official Artist-in-Residence during the Fall of 1999. Though a relatively small piece of land, the site has preserved the beauties of Western Connecticut's New England Landscape of ancient oaks, meadows and stone walls.
